What's In My Beauty Bag - Winter 2012/2013

Hi Darlings,

So, many of you have emailed me to ask what's in my beauty bag when it comes to my everyday makeup and I figure that it's since it's the new year, all of my readers should know -- after all, new years are the best times to reinvent yourself and test out new products to put in your regimen.

So, without further ado, here is the makeup I wear every day.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Illuminating  in Bare Radiance ($48)

I'm only in my early 20's so I have no need for heavy foundation (yet). Sheer coverage and evening out my skin tone is all I really need. I use this tinted moisturizer every morning. I love how this Illuminating line doesn't make my skin shiny (like so many other Illuminating tinted moisturizers do), but the very very *slight* amount of shimmer just makes it look radiant and healthy. I also love how it's light and satiny in texture instead of getting greasy after a day's wear.

Origins GinZing Eye Cream ($35)
I use two different eye creams, one in the evenings right before I go to bed and then this one, which I use in the mornings and also anytime before putting on my makeup or when I need a bit of brightening up.

It's good for longterm repair, sweetheart, but the shiny and luminescent color also acts as an instant short term brightener, so it's almost like a part of my makeup regimen.

Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder ($35)

I consider this powder to be such a heaven-scent product -- I love the way it looks on my skin. My natural skin color is what's shown because the powder truly is invisible. All it does is give my skin a flawless appearance and set my makeup to last all day long.

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara by Fabulash ($8)
I've tried many mascaras in my life but this reliable drugstore mascara is the one I keep on coming back to. It gives my more modest eye lashes a fluttery yet natural look -- for once I have naturally long, fully, and fluttery lashes!

Benefit's Benetint in "Rose" ($29)
This is a fabulous product for my preferred "no makeup" makeup look. It's a lipstain that looks naturally flushed and rosy on lips and stays on through eating, drinking, and kisses.

You can apply it to both your cheeks and your lips. I personally don't use it on my cheeks because with my skin-tone, it would look too harsh (plus, it dries up fast so you need very fast hands to blend it in before it dries up in a way that looks unnatural). There's a lighter version called Posietint which is an adorable light pink color, which is good for girls with more fair skin or lighter lips. My lips are naturally more rosy so this one is the right color for me.

It can be a bit drying so I recommend putting lip balm over it.

Well, lovelies, there you have it -- my everyday makeup look! Tell me what you use in the comments below or if we use any of the same products. :-)

Thanks so much for the product recommendations. I went out to try to the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer that you use and I LOVE the way it looks and feels on my skin.
